ACS assessment ANZSCO code not closely related

Hi Anil,

I applied for ICT Security Specialist for ACS assessment but received below response from ACS. I don’t want to go in ICT Support engineer (which has less/zero chances). Please advise next step.

Hi Gaurav,

Thank you for your ACS Migration Skills Assessment Application.

Your skills assessment has been assessed as NOT closely related to your nominated ANZSCO code.

The assessor has made a recommendation that your application is suitable for the following ANZSCO codes:

  • 263212 (ICT Support Engineer)

If you wish to change your nominated ANZSCO code as per the above recommendation, please complete the following 2 actions:

  1. Please login to indicate your preference.

  2. Please submit an additional assessment fee of $200.00 AUD .

We will hold your application for an extra 30 days. If no contact has been received from you by the ACS within this period, we will proceed to finalise your application according to your existing ANZSCO code.

You cannot do anything if ACS assessment has not found your job as related or relevant to your ANZSCO code.

Your only choice is to either change the code as suggested by ACS or select any other code that you feel is suitable and file a fresh ACS assessment.

Hi Anil,

Appreciate your quick response. What are the chances of 189 Visa in - 263212 (ICT Support Engineer)?

The last draw sent invites for 263212 with 80 points. The points requirement is expected to come down to 75 starting July 2019.

Hi Anil,

I finished B.E CSE at april 2010. I started my career at 28th october 2010 and working in IT as a software engineer till date. I’m planning to apply for acs assessment for the job code -261313 How many years of experience will be considered by acs for my case.?

My understanding is that since BE CSE is considered as ICT major, they will be deducting 2 years from my total relevant experience (8 years and 7 months as of now) and which is 6 years and 7 months right? so i can claim only 10 points for my work experience.

Is my understanding correct or will there be any further deductions ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @hariharan

I suggest to read this article where I have explained how ACS calculates and deducts your number of years from work experience.

Hi Anil

@Anil.Gupta I did go through the article, the only point which I didn’t understand is the additional deduction of years apart from 2 years which they reduce for the experience to be equivalent.

I’m not clear will the additional deduction is applicable for my case or not. Can you clarify on that point alone.

Hi @hariharan

I do not understand which additional years are you talking about apart from 2 years. I have given examples in the article and that should make it clear.

@Anil.Gupta

I didn’t understand the above additional deduction part. Will it be applicable for my case ? I wanted to know if I can claim at-least 10 points for my work experience or it will be even less or not…

Please do not copy paste the content from our blog page to forum. If you want, you can copy paste the link but not the content. We have removed the copy pasted content from your reply.

For your case, you should see the 2 years deduction from your total work experience as per my information.

@Anil.Gupta Thank you so much for the clarification. I truly appreciate your efforts.

Hi Anil,

I know it is an old thread, still, I have the same question regarding the ACS response:

“We will hold your application for an extra 30 days. If no contact has been received from you by the ACS within this period, we will proceed to finalise your application according to your existing ANZSCO code.”

I applied for Software Engineer but they recommended me to choose ICT Support Engineer. I worked only 2 years as Support Engineer in my entire 10 years career! I am wondering how did they concluded that my experience is more closely related to that post!

My queries are, should I accept ICT Support Engineer(I know I can apply only for 190 now :frowning: )? If yes, what’s my chance to get an invitation from SA/NSW with 70 points w/o nomination. What if I make it to 80(by improving PTE score)?

Hi,

I am working as AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer. My ACS was negative. Does anyone has recommendation which code I have to use?

Hi @Renjith_Km

ACS looks at your roles and responsibilities letter to judge. This simply means that your letters would have shown your activities more inclined towards the new code that they have suggested.

You can opt to get new letters and file a new assessment if you want to get evaluated for your chosen code.

Hi @ykb12345

Your question is an open ended question. If you want any meaningful answer, you should share more details about why it was negative.

Hi Anil,

Thanks for your reply.

My degree was assessed positive. I have total 7 years to experience. For first 3 years, they have mentioned that " Not relavant for the applied anzsco" and remaining 4 years, they have mentioned “Not assess due to insuffient documents”. I have submited Employ reference letter and payslips for all the work experience.

I am working on AWS DevOps engineer and I have applied for Analyst Programmer - ANZSCO 261311.

Thanks for your quick response! Could you please answer my queries in that comment:-
