Applying for H4 EAD - renewal or new application after prior L2 EAD?

Hello Anil,

I was previously on L2 visa and had applied for EAD then. Currently I am on H4 visa and planning to apply for EAD. My question is should I attach my L2 EAD with the application form? Will it be a renewal or fresh application for me?

Your H4-EAD will be a new EAD application based on the new category code i.e. C(26) - Specifically meant for spouses of H1B worker.

There is a field on H4 EAD i-765 form that asks for any prior EAD work permits.
You will have to share your L2 EAD information there.

I have another question! Should I wait for the hard copy of I140 or should I go ahead and file EAD with the receipt number!
