Approved i140 switch jobs in India

Hi,

I have an approved I-140. Due to personal obligations, I had to return to India from US late last year. I plan to switch jobs in India and go back to US after 2-3 years.

Is it okay if I switch to a new company in India which does not want to transfer or sponsor my I140? And later I switch to another company which is ready to sponsor my H1B.

Once you have an approved and valid I140, any H1B employer can sponsor you under cap-exempt so you dont have to go through the lottery.
The new employer will need to restart the Green Card process however you can port the priority date from the approved I140 and be able keep your place in the GC line.
