Australia PR with son suffering from Autism

Hi My wife and I wish to immigrate to australia on a skilled visa 189/190. Both of us are secondary school teachers.

The only issue is i wonder if we will be granted PR as our one son is on the autism spectrum. Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS).

He can read and write and he can communicate on his own, his quite independent with some tasks like clothing bathing etc himself.

He receive some speech therapy and occupational therapy fortnightly

Hennie

Hi @HennieP

I do not think that Autism should be a reason to deny your Australia PR.

The medical reason could be a reason for denial but only if your future medical costs would be more than a certain AUD limit.

You can check the medical cost limit as I have given here.
