Can I apply for a green card as a Canadian citizen (country of birth India)

Hello!

Given that India does not support dual citizenship, if and when I become a Canadian citizen, can my employer apply for a GC for me as a Canadian? Or, will I still be considered Indian since I was born there (even though my Indian passport will be gone by then)?

GC is issued based on country of birth so you will be stuck in the queue for India.
