Can you still retain and renew H4 EAD after H1 COS?

Can spouse retain H4 EAD and continue to renew in future after H1 COS? This gives the freedom to run business at the same time retaining H1.

You can’t ride in two boats at the same time.

You can use H4 EAD only when your status is H4. If you convert to H1, you lose H4 status.

However this is possible for H1 right? i.e. After getting EAD (after reaching i1485 stage) - h1 can ride on both boats by retaining EAD and H1?
