Background

  1. h1b drop box in india on 9 feb
  2. h1b cap exempt ( in lieu of approved i140)- approved
  3. h1b applied by new firm ( not the one with the I140)
  4. new firm has given offer letter and employment will start once I reach USA
    Question
  5. for drop box appointment, employment verification letter (EVL) is required, in my case can I show offer letter?
  6. if EVL is mandatory, suggestions on how to proceed? format/template

Offer letter is fine when it is a new employment. EVL applies when you are already employed with the employer and going for H1B visa renewal.
