Go back to old employer with previously approved h1

Hi anil,
My h1 transfer eas approving November and I have started working at the new company. Now I want to return to the old company and see in the USCIS site that the h1 is still active and that one is valid till 05/2025. Can I go back to old employer without new h1 transfer? They aren’t sponsoring h1s now but can I use this old h1 and work for them. Please advise

Employers are required to notify the USCIS whenever there is any “material change” to the terms and conditions of an approved H-1B petition, for e.g. termination of H1B employee when they are laid off or leave for another employer. Due to backlog, it may be that USCIS may not have processed such notification from your ex-employer and so may not have been revoked yet.

No, unless a H1B transfer petition is filed again by your ex-employer, you can’t move back.
