H1B transfer during covid-19, options if denied

Hi Anil,
I currently have H1B valid till 2022.
I have received an offer from another employer who is asking me to join on receipt notice.
However I have below questions -
Since H1B transfer premium processing is suspended , transfer will be done in regular processing which is around 8 to 10 months. During this period what will be my status? Will my current H1B still remain valid?
In case my H1B transfer gets denied then will my current H1B still remain valid or will I be out of status?

Thanks,
Saba

Your current H1B may be withdrawn by your employer once you leave them. Most good companies withdraw it.

Your status will be legal until you receive a decision on your transfer.

If your H1B transfer is denied, you will have limited options.

You might also get lucky and get H1B approval within a month as some other people have reported.

Hi Anil,
Thanks for the reply.

I went over the post for options after H1B denied.
Here is the question -
If my H1B gets denied and the old employer cannot hire me then do I have a grace period of 60 days to remain in US and look for a new employer?

Thanks,
Saba

The 60 day period is only applicable if you lose your job. It is not available if your H1B is denied.

Thanks Anil.

What is the average duration of regular processing for H1B transfer?

Have you seen any H1B transfers getting approved quicker recently?
