@Vikas123 @VIDHYA_B I also got an RFE to explain “extraordinary circumstances caused the delay”. What was your reason/reply ?

And @VIDHYA_B, “crossed Mexico border and got i 94 renewed.” Does that mean your NPT application was approved ?

My RFE was for just asking fot updated passport page and once we sent that it got approved.

Hey @Anil_Gupta : If I travel with an expired i94 (70 days since expiry) due to old passport. I do have a valid visa and a I797A will validity till Sep 2023. My renewed passport is with me now.
If I travel outside of US now and return, Is this risky?

I guess of the two options:

  1. File an NPT
  2. Travel outside to get i94 extended

Which one would you suggest as the less risky and preferrable one?

If your I-94 is already expired, you wont be allowed in. Best is to travel outside and get a visa stamp. If you dont want to travel, apply for extension of status with NPT.
