Indian embassy in Singapore not issuing PCC with USA address in passport

Hi Anil,

I need your counsel on my situation.

I am from India but went to USA for work from 2012 to 2018. During that time new passport was issued Chicago in 2014 with USA address.

In 2018 I moved to Singapore due to work and in Singapore since then. Now I need a PCC for Canada and Indian High Communion in Singapore is rejected to give PCC for me stating that address is not an Indian address.

They want me to take a new passport issued in Singapore but with Indian address for PCC. I am confused …Can you please suggest what is the solution ??

Let me understand this correctly.

  1. 2012-2018, you lived in US >> applied to FBI for a PCC.
  2. 2018 onwards lived in Singapore >> applied to Singapore CID

And for the time before 2012, you are looking for a PCC from the Indian High Commission in Singapore? Is that correct?

I think you would need to do what Indian embassy is saying although i have not heard of it before.

Indian embassy can issue a PCC even if the passport has non-indian address printed on it.

Indian embassy in US issues PCC with US address with no issues.

The other option for you is to visit India and apply PCC with regional passport office. They can give it to you but would do a police verification at your current Indian address.
