Passport renewal - Houston

It’s been a month since we have applied for my wife passport renewal.
the application status still showing as “Your application has reached the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process”.

My wife state (Telangana) got separated and district name has been changed.

when I emailed embassy about the status - they asked us to provide " Please provide the notarized birth certificate to process your passport application".

so, I emailed them again stating that -

I do not have a birth certificate. I do however have a residential certificate
Please let me know if I can use any of these documents, I can get them notarized.

I just received the same text again- Please provide the notarized birth certificate to process your passport application".

what other alternatives that I have ?

In the Same boat, They have received my passport on January 4th, status is saying still in process. No updates after that, it’s been 3 weeks. Did you receive any updates after that?

@Vinnyross Any updates from VFS regarding this ? My final submission email came on Jan 12 @ 9.45 AM CST with the following status:

"Your application has reached the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process”

I was hoping you received something from them which would mean that I can expect an update this week. Thanks!
