Renewing my F1 visa on OPT using dropbox

I am on STEM-OPT until July 2022 and my visa expired in May 2021. Would I need an NIE for visa renewal? US travel docs website and the am22tech app say that if I am eligible for dropbox. I am working in an e-commerce company and few of my colleagues got their NIE rejected.

Yes, unless you submit NIE letter with dropbox documents, and qualify for NIE, you may not be issued visa. Rather you will recieve 221g citing PP 10199 travel ban.
