Given the current trend, your chance of invite will be good once you get 80 points.
If you are currently residing in NSW, then, NSW may invite you with 75+5 points. If you are not living in NSW, then there is no chance of invite as per new NSW rules.

Victoria does not have residency requirement yet. You can and should apply for all states to increase your chances.

Now with the changes in the points, can we expect 189 invites for 261313 with 80 or 85 points? I have submitted EOI with 80 points in July, 2019. TO improve my score I have sent my partner skills for assessment (ACS) ( on 11th November, 2019) and my husband had also taken PTE (waiting for the result). With the positive PTE scores and ACS report, my points would increase to 90 but on 21st Dec, 2019 I would loose 5 points for my age. Taking all these factors into account, please let me know if I have any realistic chances of invite in December or later.
Your earlier reply indicates that we would get invites for 80 but with the new changes do you still say that we have chances with scores - 80 and 85?

It all depends on how many people have got extra points in November automatically.
The Dec draw will define the new trend. I still think that 85 points should get an invite easily.

For which region can he apply?
His occupation is 261313 software engineer.He never been to Australia.

There is no chance of invite with 70 points for software engineer based on current trend. My suggestion is to increase points.

The chances of invite vary by the number of points you have. At this time, people with 85 points are getting 189 invite.
491 and 190 invite cannot be estimated as states do not share any data.

Hello Team, i have submitted my application for 189 & 190 Visa on 30 Oct 2019.
My score for 189 Visa is 75 while for 190 Visa is 80 (I have 79+ score in PTE in all 4 bands)
I am married and as of now i am not claiming spouse points.
My category is of Software Engineer.
With change in point system and looking at current cutoff of 85 what can you suggest on the timelines of when can i expect an invite for PR?

You have good chance of invite in either Dec 2019 or Jan 2020 draw.
But i see cutoff of 189 category not coming down from 85. How do you say i can get it in next 2 months?
are there any chance for the points to come down?
