Can a new H1-B extension is filed if amendment is still in progress and I-94 expiry date is nearing?

Hi. My current H1-B amendment for MSA location change is still pending. My I-94 expires May end. Can I file extension while amendment is still in progress. I am afraid how long amendment will take and if I get late filing extension.

H1B amendment also acts as an extension. I don’t think you need to file extension.

Thanks, Anil, for your response. It was amendment only petition for MSA (location) change and still in progress over 8 months. My I-94 is expiring in May end. Please suggest, what are the available options for me, if amendment decision still doesn’t come before I-94 expiry date.
