Assume I applied for Canada Working permit with the H1B Visa and Canada approved my application, what happens to the following

  1. Does it effect to my existing H1b Visa in USA ?
  2. After canada work permit approved if I do not want to proceed further, what will happen to the Canada work permit?

No.

Once you case is approved, you’ll get an approval letter that says you’re allowed to work in Canada. This letter is called the port of entry letter of introduction.

You should bring this letter with you when you travel to Canada and present it at the port of entry. This letter is not your work permit.

You’ll only get your work permit at the port of entry the day you arrive in Canada.

The work permit will outline

  • how long you can work
  • the conditions you can work under

I believe the port of entry letter may be valid for 3 years from the date of issue based on the three year work permit term.
