Change of status from H4 to H1B

Please clarify below query , thanks in advance

I had a Approved i797B when I was in India and I came to US on H4. Later I found a new job and got the old i797 transferred to employer B and got the approval. My question is what are the next steps to be done for change of status from H4 to H1 ? My H4 I94 is valid for one more year. will it be automatically updated to I have to follow some steps? Please guide

The H1B change of employer should have been requested along with change of status from H4 to H1B. Did you talk to your employer’s immigration lawyer?
