Clarification on i-797 notice

Hi,

My employer applied for my H1B extension and got approved through premium processing on last week March 18th.
Am still waiting for the copy of approval notice . I have stamping drop box appointment on April 18th at New Delhi Location.
How long usually it will take to receive the copy of i-797 notice from USICS ?.

What would happen if i did not receive the approval notice before the drop box appointment date ?.

Worst case Shall i use the email confirmation from USCIS (Which says petition is approved) instead of i-797 ?

Is there any way to request for approval notice little bit faster ?.

Your input would be really helpful as situation is very critical.

Normally it takes 7 to 21 days.

I don’t think you can use email confirmation, though the consular officer will be able to verify that your petition is approved as they have access to USCIS database. Consult your employer’s immigration lawyer to double check.

You can call the USCIS contact center, talk to a live agent and see if they can help.
