Does "Appeal Was Dismissed" dismissed status mean H1B RFE has been issued?

Hi Anil,
I appreciate the time and effort you are putting into provide valuable information for everyone.

My H1B amendment + extension was submitted on Aug 6, 2018 and USCIS received it on August 7, 2018. My employer did not mention about submitting any appeal recently. Earlier today I received status update email and it states the following. Does this mean an RFE is being issued? Application is denied? Please provide your thoughts/comments. Thank you!

Appeal Was Dismissed
Your appeal was dismissed and the original decision on your case, Receipt Number WAC18xxxxxxxx, remains the same. On January 31, 2019, we sent you a notice about this action. If you do not receive your notice by March 2, 2019, please contact the appellate authority directly. If you move, go to How to Change Your Address | USCIS to give us your new mailing address.

Next Steps:
We will mail our decision to you. The notice will explain any action you need to take.

It looks like a system update mistake. Appeal is dismissed after you explicitly appeal against a denial decision.

Since you never received any result, it most probably is wrong status from USCIS.
Don’t worry, it happens sometimes.

But, chances are high that you receive an RFE now.

From reading on other blogs, some recommendations and approved applications comments mentioned to sign up on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and add your receipt number to get regular status updates.

So, I received Case Status update on Thursday saying appeal is dismissed. On Friday, I signed up for my USCIS account and updated the account with receipt number. On Friday both Case Status Online and myUSCIS account show that appeal was dismissed.

On Saturday, I received an email from myUSCIS account saying that there was an action taken on my case. I logged into my account and found that my case got approved on Friday.

Current status: Cases Status Online account still shows that my case appeal is dismissed. myUSCIS account shows that my case is approved.

NOTE: There are two accounts that you can signup to receive regular status updates,

  1. Case Status Online, https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do
  2. myUSCIS account, https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ (reliable source)

I hope this information helps others.

Hello! I need your help. I know your case is for 2 years ago but i am right now in the same page and i need to know if the system can have a glitch.
