First time H4EAD - passport expiring soon

I am currently working in Canada, and my indian passport is expiring Dec 24. My spouse will be filing H1B transfer sometime later this month. I have H4 visa stamped on my passport. We plan to file for premium h1+h4+h4ead together, for which I will travel to US.

  1. Can I enter USA from Canada land border with less than 6 months on Visa?
  2. Will the H4 EAD be valid till my passport expires or the H4 EAD expiry be based on H1 petition end date?

ps - I am trying to renew my passport in tatkal, but not sure if I will be able to.

They should approve your H4 EAD till the H4 expiry.
H4 expiry is matched with H1B expiry.
