Guidance on consular processing

Hi All,

Looking for guidance on consular processing -

Currently I am in Canada with same employer who started my green card process with approved l140 (EB2 category). My employer immigration attorney mentioned that, they will be transferring my case to consular processing, once I complete 3 years outside of USA. I am about to complete 3 years and looking forward to apply for consular processing.

Requesting to please help me, getting my questions clarified. Thanks -

  1. Immigration attorney mentioned that, it will take 1 year to complete whole transfer process. Is this the standard time?, please clarify.
  2. What happens if I change my job, after consular processing process completes or in progress with USICS. Will my I140 will still be valid?
  3. What happens if my PD becomes current?, can I directly process my green card through consular processing while file is in progress with NVC.
