H1 Extension Premium email contains Consulate/Port of Entry Notified: U.S. CONSULATE - Chennai, INDIA

Hi All,

I have received the H1 extension approval email and it contains Consulate/Port of Entry Notified: U.S. CONSULATE - Chennai, INDIA does this mean my i797 will not have i94?

Do I need to go for for stamping ?

Not necessarily. They notify your home country consulate just in case you want to go for stamping later.

Just wait for the approval i797 to see if i94 is attached or not.

Thanks, Anil… As per attorney stamping is not needed but we are still waiting for the hard copy. But as per people’s experiences if they receive consulate notified means no i94 in i797 is this true always?

@SGC Could you please clarify if your H-1B approved with I-94 (or) without I-94 ?
