Hi, Is it possible to pick up the passport after VISA approval from the actual VAC location( Chennai for example) even if I have selected premium document delivery to my hometown(In Kerala). Due to the heavy impact of the cyclone, I suspect the delivery dates are delayed and my travel dates are coming closer.

Yes, they do allow pick up unless they have already shipped.

You have to call and check with them.
