H4 to F1 COS: Parallel applications for H4 & F1

Hello.

  1. My daughter will turn 21 in April 2028.

  2. She is currently on H‑4 status, and her I‑94 is valid until June 27, 2026.

  3. She is currently enrolled in the college and has received an I‑20 from the same college, starting in August 2026. She is planning to apply for F‑1 status.

  4. Is it advisable to apply for F‑1 status as her I94 expires in 2 months? Will she remain in a valid status while the application is pending, after her I‑94 expires on June 27, 2026?

  5. On a safer side, can I file an H‑4 extension in parallel with the F‑1 application?
    Please advise me on the best option to proceed. Thank you
