H4 with NPT approved but i94 not back dated

,

Hi everyone,

Has anyone faced a similar situation?

My H4 was out of status for more than a year, and I applied for an H4 extension with NPT. The case was approved, but USCIS did not backdate the I-94. My attorney said this is normal — they usually don’t backdate I-94s — and that I’m now back in status legally, so there’s nothing to worry about.

I was also told I can go for stamping in India and that I don’t need to mention this situation in the DS-160.

Has anyone here gone through something similar? Would love to hear your experiences and any suggestions.

If NPT was approved, then, you are fine.

@anil_am22 I stayed more than 450 days due to passport expiration still had a valid visa stamp and h4 i797 i94.filed H4 with NPT approved.

still do I need to mention anything in DS-160? Or request any clearance on visa stamp? Or any other thing I need to make sure?

Your suggestions will help us to take measures. Thank you :folded_hands:t2:
