I-485 EAD valid till 2029. Should I renew H4-EAD?

Hello,

My spouse has a I-485 EAD/AP combo card valid till 2029. The H-4 EAD renewal is coming up this year. Can she just switch to working with the I-485 EAD and not renew the H-4 EAD.

If I (primary) intend to remain on H-1B, will this create complications for the I-485 case and her status if she doesn’t renew h4-ead.

There should be no issue with i485 processing.

The only thing is that she won’t be able to come back to H4 EAD easily if she chooses to move to i485 EAD.

Thanks Anil. Any reason she would need to get back to H4 EAD? Assuming the only reason would be the I-485 getting declined for whatever reason. Have already had medicals done after the I-485 RFE, so really not expecting many complications there hopefully.

To get back on H4, she will need to go put of US, get H4 visa stamped and then re-enter.

That’s why I said it may not be easy.
