After cruise, my I-94 is updated in CBP site. Expiry date is not matching extended i797 expiry. CBP officer at San Antonio deferred inspection said cruise is not meaningful departure and we don’t need to update i94 date same as extended petition date. Any action needed from my end ?

My employers immigration team said no action needed. I still have the extended petition valid from 9/9/2025 to 9/8/2028. Can I use this for Mexico travel and get I-94 up to 9/8/2028 ?

I still suggest that talk to your employer once again and tell them clearly that your most recent i94 was updated on your last travel.
The thing is that if you stay beyond i94 validity, it is considered unlawful.
