I-94 shows invalid Admit Until Date due to Passport Renew for H4

I am on H1B and have valid I94 and valid Visa till Sept 2025.

But My wife and my daughter’s I-94 (H4) show expired 1 year back due to Passport expiry. We renewed the passport last year but I-94 for both of us still shows last year’s date.

We all have Visa stamped till Sept 2025. How to get updated I94 which is expired more than 6 months back. Thanks

File H4 NPT application with USCIS to request i94 from back date. Or leave US and Get H4 visa stamp with entry ban waiver from US embassy

Can you please confirm on below and please confirm which option I should consider first?

  1. Can I go to Mexico border (Texas side) and reenter from there even though My H4 I-94 expired 1 year before, but Visa status & I797 status is valid?

  2. My H1 extension is in progress and once I get my Receipt No, I will start H4 extension. Our Visa is valid till Sept 2025. So, can I do H4 NPT application at the same time?

Also Is it worth visiting CBP Dallas office to give a try If they can update the I-94?

Try the CBP dallas office first. Sometimes, they fix it too.

Hi @anil_am22 I have visited the Dallas (Deferred Inspection Sites), and they did not even listen and said to contact to Employer.

Is it ok to give a try to Dallas Port of Entry office. Is it safe to go there?

You can file H4 NPT or you can try the Mexico border since the H4 has valid visa stamp in passport.

Do We need H4’ I797 also? I am on my first H1 term and My extension is on progress and H4 does not have I797 and her extension is also not yet started. Do We need to it to show at border?

H4 i797 is not required.
