India passport renewal (from USA) while permanent/printed address under redevelopment

Hello,

I am about to submit my passport for renewal as it expires later this year. The address printed on my current passport is now under redevelopment and my family has moved to a rental in the same city until redevelopment is complete. I have lived in the USA for 20+ years and no real ties, Aadhar card, other property or anything other show proof of new address etc.

My question is which address should I use as the printed address and “Other Address”? Also, should I simply leave the current printed address even though the property is under redevelopment?

My cousin lives in the new rental property and is available for any verifications.

Thanks for the help!

Whatever address you use, you will need to provide its proof on paper.

The police verification will happen at the address you mention.

If I use the current printed address for the renewed passport as well, I assumed no proof is needed as I am not changing the address besides police verification?

Now given that property has been demolished for redevelopment, I am confused whether to use the same address or now use my US address as the printed address.

I was planning on giving the temporary rental address in India as my Other Address where verification can happen.
