Hi There,
I live inn the US and I got a police verification mail for my Indian passport renewal under normal processing. This is a new address change from my old passport.
However, no one from police contacted nor verified with my parents who live there, but I got my new passport in hand last week here in the US.
Question is, should I send my parents to the police station even though I got my passport in hand?
Reason I ask is the mail mentioned
“ You are requested to get in touch with the respective Police Office if verification is not done in three weeks.”
Do I really need to do this or if there is any consequences not doing this ? TIA!
Yes i had similiar experience, this process is for reconfirmation if the details provided are correct, you will recieve an email or phone message to contact PIC from you nearest police station. After you recieve the e-mail or message you relative must go and give the copy of the old passport and new passport with adhar card proof. In case their is change in the information you have provided the consulate will call you and check why is information different.
