Is police verification mandatory for passport renewal and how many days will it take to receive renewed passport

USA Indian Passport Renewal

  • Send passport renewal application to VFS on Jun21st. Got confirmation from VFS on Jun 26

  • current status Jul10 - Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.

  • I should to move to different place on Jul 30. Will i get passport by then. What will happen if i move to different place after Jul 30 - any instructions to update address to receive renewed passport ?

    • can i use fedex hold service and pickup from fedex showing my id
    • I did not get any email related to police verification in india till now

You will have to check with Fedex if they will hold it or not for you.
As far as I know, VFS or embassy has not process to change the delivery address once you have mailed the documents.
