Is this considered as an address change?

Hi, my old passport does not have the district & state in the address. However, it looks like the new online passport renewal application generates these automatically in the address. So the address printed on the new passport is different (i.e. now has district & state) for the same residential building (i.e. same house number, city, and pincode). Is this considered a change in address and do I need to furnish proof of this address (containing district and state)? Thanks in advance.

Please be informed that as per the document checklist, if there is no district name and state name printed on your current passport then while filling out the government application you need to select your district name and state name in the drop-down and it is considered as an address change. Hence you need to provide proof of Indian address with district name and state name.
