Made payment on new portal, want to close application and start new one

Hi all,
I started an application on new US visa portal, and made the fee payment. But I have not booked any appointment.
Now, I want to change my DS-160 form.
Is it safe to close this application and start new one?
Please advise, on what I should do.

You can create a new DS-160 or if it is within 30 days from when you created the current you can still update it.
