Passport issued of minor with wrong photo - what should I do next? HELP

Hello, I had applied to San Francisco consulate for passport renewal in tatkal for my daughter and I chose VFS global online photo option but today when I received the passport it has wrong person’s photo!! When I call up VFS, they say speak to Indian consulate for next steps. I have to travel in 4 weeks and am really in a fix on what to do - please advise :pray::pray:

If they ask to speak to embassy, then, you have no option but to talk to consulate.

Their customer support is pathetic.

Hey!! Checking if you were able to resolve this? I have run into the same issue. I just got my passport with a wrong photo in it and I used the VSF photo option.

Hi, yes it was resolved for me. I went to the consulate directly and took all proofs of VFS photo payment. The consulate officials were also very surprised and did a thorough check in their systems. I had to wait for almost 2 hours but all said and done they admitted it was a mistake in the process and cancelled the wrongly issued passport and gave a new one to me there and then. I suggest you go to them immediately, don’t waste any time with VFS. It will get done.

Just one more question - Do I need to take a photo with me or will they be able to find the photo that I submitted to VFS?

They will have photo in system. I had taken photos but they didn’t ask for them. All the best.

I have received my minor’s passport with incorrect validity. How did you visit the SF consulate? By appointment or walkin? I need to plan my travel soon and get it corrected. Did they print the new passport at the same time and gave it to you?

My issue was resolved and I went without an appointment. My issue was related to wrong photo on passport, different from your issue. Suggest you go and meet them and request for help. They seemed cooperative in my case.
