I applied for passport reissue, for splitting and rearrangement of my name.
In my existing passport, I don’t have last name, and my Given name is -
So, I applied for a split and rearrangement.
After application, I got a mail from the consular officer, asking for newspaper ads.
I got the ads printed and replied on the mail with image of the ads.
The application status changed to - Printing has been initiated on passport.
After 2-3 days, my parents got an SMS from local police station, for document verification. The officer came to the house and took the documents.
After a couple of days - the status changed to Application under review at consulate.
It’s been the same since, a week.
What happens next? How much more time would this take?
Is it too soon to mail the embassy?

You can wait for sometime. It will be processed if everything is in order. Normal processing time is 30 days.

When you say 30 days, do you mean, after police verification, or in total after submission of ads/documents?
