Passport Renewal Application Returned Unprocessed Again

Hello,

My passport renewal application was returned unprocessed the first time because they wanted me to apply under the damaged category. I did that. Now, they’re returning it unprocessed because the name on my application doesn’t match the name on my passport? WTF! I checked and I didn’t use a nickname or anything. I didn’t enter my middle name because the application didn’t show it as a required section. Is that what this is about?

Also, it got me thinking, will they return it unprocessed a fourth time if my father’s middle name has a discrepancy? On my passport his middle name said “Dhirubhai,” but I noticed on his passport copy, it said “Dhirajbhai.” How do I avoid any further issues?

I’m incredibly frustrated with this process. The consulate/embassy/VFS are not helpful or accessible at all! TIA

They usually do reject if there are discrepancies.

What can I do? I don’t have another way of showing proof of an Indian address, other than my parents passport copy. The last time my passport was renewed, I was a minor and my parents did it for me so I didn’t fill out their details the way they did. Do I attach a letter with my application telling them to ignore the discrepancy or is there something else?

Also, can you be more specific? Are you referring to what I posted about my name or my father’s middle name? TIA
