Hello Everyone,

I wanted to understand if there is a way to check the completion status of the police verification online. I know that when you apply in India, it is easier to check since the status usually changes on the same day or the day after. However, I am unsure how to check the status when applying for a passport renewal in the USA. The status on the embassy website has been showing “Passport has been printed” for the past 7 to 8 days, and the police verification was also completed in India recently, but the status has not changed yet. I would appreciate any information regarding this. Thank you in advance.

Your passport is probably just waiting to be couriered by VFS to your home address.

Normally, they are pretty quick and do it the same day as it is printed.

Not sure why it is delayed here.

Thank you Anil. I’ll wait for a few more days before reaching out to the embassy. Is PRAMIT the best way to contact them?

Hello @anil_am22 - Is there a way to contact the embassy? I haven’t received any updates on my passport yet.

You can visit the embassy in-person and request to handover the passport if its ready.
They do give it if its available with them.

I am not aware of any direct phone communication channel with embassy.
