I live in NY and recently and sent my passport for renewal (almost one month back). I selected no change in address option since I thought there will be no verification for renewal. Now I got a police verification initiation email and it has been pending for 3 weeks now. I don’t have any address proof for the address provided . Is there any suggestion what should i do . My passport is about to expire in 3 months.
That’s tricky. You should have at least one acceptable proof (list below). Else, try to convince Police that you aren’t in India for a long time so you do not have proof but that is still your address etc. Not sure if this will work, though.
It’s advisable, in absence of proof, to give US address for printing on Passport and some relative’s address as your Indian address. But that ship has sailed.
