Place of birth - Hyderabad, Andhra pradesh - Reissuance of passport

Hi, I am applying for reissuance of my indian passport in USA. My passport is expiring on Jan 2024.

My place of birth in my current passport is Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. However since AP is changed to Telangana now, should i mentioned place of birth as Hyderabad, Telangana in the Govt application and VFS fee application ?

Would this be fine, and not considered as a change ?
Did anyone do the same, and was good with getting their passports reissued ? Please respond.

Use the latest information. They are aware of such changes and will not impact your renewal application.

Have you renewed it by changing to telangana? Were they ok with it ?

@manogna_chowdary - have you completed the process? I am in same situation.

Did you provide any supporting letter? Also, does adhar card update required for this to reflect Telangana instead of AP?
