My application has been accepted by VFS
I had to verify fathers name so few days longer. Which is your center? mine is SFO
Mine was Houstan, TX and i got it today …
In all they received my application on 11/25 and i received my renewed passport today i.e. 12/11 under Normal processing.

Hi Geeta, did you mean the embassy called you to verify father’s name? I maybe in the same boat and hence wanted to know a little bit more about your case
In my passport parents surname was not mentioned. So for renewal, I provided my mother’s passport, my birth certificate - it had a clerical typo. So I wrote a notarized affidavit affirming correct spelling of father’s first name to be as in my passport and mother’s passport. They put on application hold and asked for father’s passport, which I do not have . He is deceased and my mother in India (81)!could not find any old documents of his. I wrote email to embassy to explain and they advised vfs to accept application with documents provided.
