I have a question. My wife’s H4 extension was approved last week and is valid until October 25, 2027.
I recently got my I140 and am considering applying for her H4 EAD (Employment Authorization Document) since the processing time for standalone H4 EAD applications is very long. I wanted to know if I could apply for her H4 extension again along with the H4 EAD application. Is this possible?
Not sure what you are trying to achieve by filing H4 extension again?
What is the plan?
Just to avoid long precessing time if H4 EAD applied as stand alone application
Current h4 EAD processing timeline if applied as standalone application is 9 months
H4EAD processing if applied with H4 extension then 3 months.
I am not aware of such timelines.
If you think it will help expedite it, you can file H4 extension again.
They just want your fee… They don’t care how many times you apply it.
If the H1B approval date is same as H4 approved extension date at this time, they will most probably deny the H4 but won’t refund the fee.
