Renewal of B1/B2 for my parents

Dear Anil,

My parents were issued B1/B2 visas in 2015. But I applied for a B-2 visa in DS 160 in 2015. Currently I would like to apply for renewal. During filling out DS 160, which category do I need to select? B1/B2 or B2 Visa?. Appreciate your response.

B1 is for business travelers and B2 is for tourism/visitors.

Thank you Anil. My parents were issued B1/B2 with passport in 2015, even though I selected B2. Can I select B2 now to renew in the DS-160 form? Because it’s asking, Are you applying for the same category applied earlier?.

Yes, you can choose same category as they issue B1/B2 as single visa.
