Request for Guidance on H4 EAD Extension and 540-Day Automatic Extension

I need your assistance regarding my H4 EAD extension. My current EAD is valid until August 23, 2025, while my H4 is approved until November 30, 2026. I recently traveled to India and got my H4 visa stamped. My latest I-94 shows an expiration date of December 12, 2026.

I am planning to file my EAD extension around May 15, 2025, which means I will still have approximately 3 months of validity left on my current EAD at the time of filing.

If my EAD extension is not approved before the current EAD expires, will I be eligible for the 540-day automatic extension, and can I continue to work until November 30, 2026, assuming the extension is still pending?
Do I need travel cross boader since my current i94 is upto date with recent approved h4 (November 30, 2026)

You should be able to use EAD auto extension with valid H4 i94.

There is no need to visit the border in your case.
