My pasport status is stuck at the SFO Consulate with status “Print has been initiated for passport” for past 5-6 days. I also got the mail regarding initiation of police verification at my India address 6 days back, but no status change since then. I believe for tatkal passport, it shouldn’t wait so long for printing. Any idea what can I do further?
Get help from your friends/family to get Police verification process complete ASAP.
If you witness substantial delay, reach out to SFO consulate thru’ email and/or X (Twitter).

Thanks. I think the police verification completion is not a pre-requisite for getting the passport. It can run in parallel, specifically in case of Tatkal.
