(USA visa) What happens to H4 visa status?

My spouse was on F-1 visa and we were planning to move to H-4 visa. I looked for a new employer and applied H-4 plus H-4 EAD with H1B transfer via premium processing. All the applciations (H1B transfer, H4 and H4-EAD are approved). Now due to personal cirsumstances not able to join this employer. If I plan to either continue in the current company or move to any other company. What would be consequences of this decision on H4 and H4-EAD?

Looking forward to suggestions.

H4 and H4 EAD can be used. No issues.

Thank you for your quick response.

If I choose another employer then my spouse will still be considered on H4 visa right? Even if the employer (let’s say B) who sponsored my visa revoked the H1-B transfer.

In that case, should I provide the H4 and H4-EAD approval notice to the new employer (let’s say C) along with my current employer’s (let’s say A) approval notice for the new transfer application?

New employer is only responsible for H1B. They don’t care about H4 as its a personal application.

They won’t need H4 or H4 EAD details at all.

Usually, employers file H4 and H4 EAD as a courtesy with H1B but they are not required to file it.

Thanks for confirming this.

But everytime I change job I need to request my new employer to apply H4 and H4 EAD also right? Please correct if my understanding is wrong. I am new to this.

Thanks in advance

Not really required as H4 is not company/employer specific.

You can file H4 and EAD yourself too.

You will need to apply H4 and EAD extension whenever they are about to expire preferably 6 months before they expire.
