USCIS may run a second draw if the number of applications selected in first draw are not enough to fill 85k spots.
But, with this high number of applications, my opinion is that they would have already selected about 105k applications.
This means that the chances of second draw are almost NIL.
Thanks Anil for your immediate reply. My son has completed his advanced degree from US and the employer with whom he is presently working on F1 OPT visa has applied for his H1B. Unfortunately,my son was not successful in the draw of lots. His employer hopefully will be making application for the next year and I only wish that in the draw of lots he should become successful. Can you throw some light on how the draw is conducted? If a student on OPT did not get selected in the draw within the maximum permitted period, he should pack and return to India on transfer with the same employer and can he again try from India.
