When to renew/file for extension

Hi

The expiration date on my stamped visa is in OCT 2024.The i797 valid until date is in FEB 2025.
The admit until date on i-94 issued at airport is in Dec 2024.

Can I work until Feb 2025 on H1B using i797 and request my employer to file for extension in Jan 2025 ?

Or should I treat h1b expiration as Oct 24 / Dec 24 and have to get my extension filed before Oct/Dec?

If I-94 issue date by CBP is later than your current I-797 approval date then you will have to get your H1B extension done before I-94 expiration (i.e. Dec’24), in order to be in valid status and work.
