Issues with Indian Passport renewal via VFS Global

Hi @srini2013 i am in the same situation its been three days i see that on the VFS site Your application has been dispatched via courier but the fedex label has not been updated.

can you let mw know how to track the courier ?’

Thanks,
Tarun chadalla

Please use your return label’s tracking ID while searching in FeDex site https://www.fedex.com/fedextrack/

No other notification after this. Don’t use the tracking ID (Application ID) provided in the email to search in FeDex.

The previous vendor was so much better. VFS guys are seriously unprofessional. I have been waiting for last 4 weeks for them to move the application forward :unamused:

I sent all docs multiple times as directed.
Can’t get a straight answer and can’t speak to anyone at VFS nor Indian consulate DC

What a hassle

My application review is done by consulate and printed.
In vfs, I see the status as Your application has been dispatched via courier from last 1 week. SFO consulate
I haven’t received the passport or any updates. Anyone knows if there are delays in passport dispatch?

This is strange. I would suggest you reach out to VFS and CGISFO via Twitter - they will investigate very quickly

Hi All,

I mailed my docs for passport renewal to VFS in San Francisco via Fedex.
On Dec 23, VFS acknowledged receipt.
On Jan 1, I got a notification that it’s- ‘Processed’ at the ICAC and ‘In Transit’ to the Embassy for decision making.

Currently my application status update has stalled at “Under review at embassy” for more than 3 weeks. This is on the GOI website.

Has anyone else applied around the same time in SF? What is your current status? Most of the quick processing I see in this thread is from the first week of Dec.

Thanks!

Send an email on Monday to CGISFO email passport.sf@mea.gov.in and give them your application details and time since under review. They will update you further.

Hi Sid - Can you please confirm @ what VFS address in SF did you FedEx too? Is it #1 or #2 below?

  1. 228 Grant Ave, Floor 5, San Francisco, CA - 94108

  2. 110 Sutter Street Floor 5 94104 San Francisco CA

Thanks

I have the same email response, but I cant remember the address where I initially submitted my application too in SF, as google search shows 2 addresses for VFS in San Francisco as mentioned in comment above.
Can someone please confirm which of 2 is the correct VFS San Francisco address so I can FedEx additional documents?

Sent to Grant avenue. Fedex label from VFS has this.

Thanks. Any reason why you specifically said Monday? Is it not “late” before then?

If you have an emergency, you can reach out to them sooner. It’s weekend, so in normal circumstances they would attend to your query on Monday

Hey does anyone know if police verification happens if there is no change in indian address? This is my first renewal btw.

My status has changed to “Print Initiated” on Feb 1. (originally mailed out on Dec 23 to VFS SFO).
So hopefully will get the Passport in the next 2 weeks.

I have the same issue with my return label. There is no space between the first line and the second line of address . Let me know if you hear anything about it.

In my case Only one shipping label was incorrect. I called the customer support, they told me this:

  1. Create another shipping label with correct details on my own (from fedex website) & ignore the auto generated shipping label.
  2. And create a refund request for the shipping label amount from VFS website.

In my case too only the return shipping label has no space in between first line and second line which is my apartment number
(3505 north military trailapartment 1265)
I have already sent the return label to vfs along with the other documents.

I feel the space should not make a huge difference as the address is still meaningful. But looking at your response and communication with vfs I am a little confused.
