Issues with Indian Passport renewal via VFS Global

My status has been changed today . "Passport is printed and will be delivered shortly. "

I have not received any auto email for the police verification.

Just now received the acknowledgement email.
Did you notarize Annexure E also while sending?

I didnā€™t and VFS didnā€™t ask for that before forwarding it to consulate. So hopefully we should be good.
After going through all posts in this thread, it seems only SFO VFS is asking it to be notarized , not NYC.

Yeah, letā€™s see
I will keep you posted

Just now checked the status on Passport Seva at Indian Embassies and Consulates. I am seeing status ā€œPrint has been initiated for passport.ā€ā€¦ Looks like rapid forward progress. :slight_smile:

FYI: My last passport was issued at NYC only in 2010.

Oh may be thatā€™s the reason of this fast progress

@srini2013 - Same for meā€¦Status changed to "Passport is printed and will be delivered shortly. " and no communication on police verificationā€¦Will keep you posted.

VFS tracking shows ā€œinvalid inputsā€, VFS received package on 11//17, didnā€™t received confirmation email from VFS yet. Can you guys tell us time they take at SFO

Mine, still says processing at the VFS only

@Pras
Below is the timeline for SFO

Application - Normal
Timeline as below
11/10 - Fedex package sent
11/11 - Received by VFS
11/12 - Email confirmation of receipt from VFS
11/13 - Dispatched to embassy email from VFS
11/18 - Status on government site - Print has been initiated
11/19 - Status on government site - ā€œPassport is printed and will be delivered shortly.ā€

Thanks for the update. I donā€™t get confirmation from VFS yet - over 2buissness days fedex delivered. Getting template response from customer service. ā€œIssue resolved, please checkā€
VFS is a complete Joke and not sure why Indian embassy handed over to such poor unpotential company.

Thank you so much Roheet! Appreciate your help :slight_smile:

Same here ; no acknowledgement email yet

Hey Roheet, one final question; for police verification can both the Indian address be same?
Also, what exactly is the process, do they just call or somebody has to visit the police station

Thanks!

No, why do we need to send the application again? Only sent the missing Doc with Ref # and Passport # so that they can identify my application.

Just put a copy of the Email that VFS sent u.

@Nidhi

You will get an automated email from passport.admin@passportindia.gov.in
Likeā€ This is to inform you that Police Verification Request has been sent to the Police department (refer the following table for details) for your Passport Application (Re-Issue Passport Issuance under xxxx scheme) submitted with File Number USxxxxxxxxxxxxx.ā€

Email will have the details of address where verification will be done{it will be as per address you submitted in self sworn affidavit}
During IST hrs, Someone from concerned dept will appear at ur Indian address.
Police asks the copy of the same document u provided [in my case its my Aadhar copy] plus any additional info like spouse Aadhar copy etc.

Someone at ur Indian address should submit those docs to the guy who shows up.

Better you have them handy at your Indian verification address.

In case if no one resides at that address, As far as i know, they check with neighbors ā€¦ If any of your neighbour / relatives can help in getting their contact# {Officer come for verification} & share with you / your parents/relativesā€¦ you can close that talkintg to them.

Itā€™s easy.

***** I hope you already know they will expect :money_with_wings: at verification *****

@Pras
Where you able to track ? I sent the application similar to your time , but i canā€™t track

Okkā€¦ thanx shreekant

Thank you for the detailed information, Roheet. It is very helpful!

Since my residence address is same as provided in the passport so I have not submitted any Indian address proof(as per checklistā€¦ no idea if it had to be submitted), do they still ask for the documents?

Thanks!

@Nidhi

As per check list, INDIAN ADDRESS PROOF (If Applicants wants to add/Change Indian Address) ā€“ Self Attested copy

In the check list though it said, (If Applicants wants to add/Change Indian Address) i still sent self attested Color Aadhar copy.

If you have already sent your package, wait for VSF email & then submit if asked.
