Yes I got the police verification email not sure what to do. My flat is on rent and with pandemic everyone has gone to their home town.
SFO passport renewal:
My Passport status still shows “Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate” since 11/20 but no Police verification email. No India address change for me and I already renewed my passport in 2011 from SFO embassy.
Do I still need police verification?

Annexure E is just applicant’s signature, notary is not required I believe.

Mine also SFO delivered Nov 24 . No word yet. I understand today is holiday for Embassy - - Guru Nanak birthday- possibly VFS is closed too.

On 14 November I sent all documents from FedEx and in Tuesday I received email that vfs received documents.after 4 days I received email that document sent to embassy for review.And 28 November I got my daughter’s passport.

I thought so too and no mention of that in the Checklist. but I read few people got a response from them to Notarize that. I will know when I get my response.
You need Notary for Annexure E. I sent without notary got email from VFS saying Notary is missing. I notarized and sent it again. Now VFS forwarded application to Embassy. This is mandatory for SFO center even its not mentioned in check list.

I got my passport delivered today. This is for Atlanta Consulate.
Here’s the timeline of events:
Nov 21(Sat) - Sent the packet to VFS via fedex delivery
Nov 23(Mon) - Received by VFS
Nov 24 - Email from VFS saying that the passport is now with Embassy of India
Nov 26 - Email for Initiation of Police Verification Request (Though no one has come to my house in India for verification)
Nov 27 2pm - Email from VFS that embassy has dispatched the passport to VFS
Nov 27 (Friday) 3pm - Email from VFS that they have dispatched it to me
Nov 30 - Received the new passport
For documents, I did notarize Annexure E (but the checklist did not mention it). Other notary documents were as mentioned in the checklist.
Also I sent black and white copies (but notarized) of i797, passport and driving license. The UPS location near me said that they are not allowed to take color photocopy of identity related documents so I went with black and white copies.

11/20 I saw status change saying “Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate.”
No email on Police verification so far. Another person whose status on same day, got email on Police verification and his status now shows “Print has been initiated”.
@Shreekanta_Pradhan I am in the same boat since 11/18. No Change. They are just lazy… CKGS was the best!
Well, It’s not about VFS vs CKGS. File is already moved from VFS to Embassy, may be it’s just holiday time. But some folks with similar submission dates got their Police verification email and their passport status now changed to Printed instantly!!
